A small, spreading, deciduous tree with alternate, elliptical, elongated, dark-green leaves measuring from 8 to 15 cm in length. In May it produces panicles of white flowers up to 2 cm in width, which are followed by berry-shaped, reddish-orange fruit. Very hardy, as a shrub it stands very well bad conditions, as a tree you can use is for pavements or terraces.
