A small, deciduous tree with rounded, alternate, slightly egg-shaped leaves with 3 to 5 lobes, dark-green on top and light-green on the underside. From May to June it produces abundant, double flowers, dark-pink to bright-red in colour. Very hardy, also with the coldest temperatures. It supports well many types of soils. Good for pavements and alignments.
