An erect, evergreen, palm-like tree with curved, lanceolate-to-linear, often sagging leaves which range in colour from green to light green, reach from 40 to 80 cm in length and grow in a circular way around the main trunks. In summer it produces panicles 80 to 90 cm in length with small, creamy-white flowers.
